Amazon.com Ever wonder what the girls of Sex and the City might have been like if they'd been friends since toddlerhood? Probably a lot like the appealing friends in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, the winsome sequel to the winning 2005 film based, as is this film, on the novels of Ann Brashares. Tibby, Carmen, Bridget, and Lena are the Carrie, et al., of this yarn, which picks up in the girls' lives as they're launching into womanhood--figuring out "how to become ourselves without losing each other." The young women fight heartache and family trouble while seeking adventure in their first year of college and the summer after--and trading off a pair of what must surely be the best-traveled garment in the history of Hollywood. All the young actresses have become more famous since the first film--especially Ugly Betty Emmy winner America Ferrera (Carmen), but also Blake Lively (Bridget), Amber Tamblyn (Tibby), and Alexis Bleidel (Lena). But the film is very much an ensemble piece as all four young stars trade off their piece in the spotlight. Adventures take them to far-flung locales like Rhode Island, New York, and an archeological dig in Turkey, and the adventures and friendship continue across the miles. Above all? The Sisterhood, of course. Tibby, over lunch: "I suck at relationships. I should have been a guy." Lena: "Nah, a guy wouldn't worry about sucking at relationships." And suddenly, sisters, everything seems right in the world. --A.T. Hurley

Pleasantly surprised! January 9, 2009 I just want to say that as a parent of a pre-teen girl, I was so pleasantly surprised by the way that this film empowered women. I thought it included a message that pre-marital sex has consequences. I have read the books by this author and I can see that the movie changed several things to make the movie less "trashy" than the books. I greatly appreciated that. This was a must see movie for women - 13 and above.
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 January 9, 2009 The movie was purchased for my 14 year old daughter. During the Christmas vacation we sat and watched it together. We really enjoyed the first one and just as equally enjoyed number 2. It's great to see the second one of a movie, to see how the actresses matured, and how they still had their friendship even when they lost the pants. So thumbs up to this movie. Bev
cute January 8, 2009 I thought it was a cute movie but missing some of the appeal of the last film.
Friendship January 6, 2009 This DVD is great...a great movie to watch with your friends, especially if you're into the books.
Great scenery January 6, 2009 I bought this movie for my wife for Christmas. She loved the first movie and really liked this one also. The scenery in Greece was beautiful, it made me want to actually go to Greece. My wife was happy, so that's all that matters in the end.
